Let's face it, you just can't deny the iconic status of the Wool Hat. It's one of the few things the average layperson
remembers about The Monkees.
"Oh, The Monkees. Wasn't that the show about a band with Davy Jones and that guy in the hat?"
Some might try to denounce the Wool Hat, claiming that it was contrived; simply a way for kids to keep track of which
Monkee was which. The truth is, Mike actually showed up to his audition wearing this hat, which he used it to keep
his hair neat when riding his motorcycle.
So let us all take a moment to reflect on the greatness of the Wool Hat, and admire some lovely pictures I found.

|
Mike uses the Wool Hat as a prop to indicate distress. Isn't the hat's range amazing? |

|
Even Frank Zappa loves the Wool Hat. |

|
The wool hat even looks good in black and white. |

|
From the Season 2 main titles. Doesn't Mike look happy? It's the hat, you know it is. |

|
This isn't the normal wool hat, it's blue. Mike is apparently trying to make the green one jealous. |

|
The wool hat's infamy lives on...as a bobble head. Yes, I also find this disturbing. |
Psycho-Jello is apparently down for good, so no snazzy pictures from there. I got these last four through a google
image search. If they are yours, and you are royally pissed of at me, please send me an e-mail and I will credit you
or take the picture down (whichever you prefer).
